Harbour radio: a station in one small window
A local station wanted listeners to keep it open all day. We made the site the size of a radio.
The brief
Most visitors arrive on a shared line at work. The whole site had to load in under ten seconds and never need a second window.
- One window, 640 by 480, no scrolling on the front
- The programme guide readable at a glance
- Requests sent without leaving the page
What we built
The schedule runs along the foot of the window like a dial. Every page is drawn from four colours and one typeface, so the pictures can be spent on the presenters.
Keeping it light
Each page is checked against a budget before it ships. The build stops when weigh --max 40k reports a page over the line.
