How counting works

A habit counts once a day, inside the hours you gave it. Reading counts from six in the evening until midnight.

Streaks

A streak is the number of days in a row with a check-in. One missed day breaks the row but not the month: the calendar keeps the hoop and carries on.

  • A check-in after midnight belongs to the new day
  • A paused habit keeps its streak for two weeks
  • Two misses in a row turn the label red

Your own rule

Each habit has one line that says when it fits. For this one it is after dinner, phone in the hall, and you can change it at any time.

This habit

Six of seven evenings this month, and the longest row so far.

New habit

Make it small enough to do on a bad day.

The habit

A week has seven days. Choose one to seven.

One line that says when it fits into the day.

It will look like this

  • Play the piano for ten minutes

    Right after the dishes

    day 1
How small is small enough?

If you could do it with a cold, it is small enough. Ten minutes beats an hour you skip.

What happens when I miss a day?

The streak starts again and the month keeps a hoop for that day.

Can a habit end?

Yes. Give it a number of days and it moves to Finished when it gets there.
