How the house decides

Each room asks for heat on its own, and the boiler answers the room that is furthest from its target.

A room has a target and a comfort band of half a degree around it. Inside the band the valve rests. The hub stores each change with the field set_by, so you can tell a schedule from a hand on the dial.

Schedules

A schedule is a list of times and targets for one room. Scenes sit on top: while a scene is on, its targets win.

When a schedule is skipped

  • A window in the room has been open for five minutes.
  • Someone changed the dial in the last two hours.
  • Frost guard is holding the whole house.
