One library on every screen
Pick the folders that matter and chronoskin Sync watches them. When a file changes on one computer, only the part that changed travels to the others, so a long video you trimmed by ten seconds does not upload again from the start.
How a sync happens
The program sits beside the clock and wakes when a watched folder changes. It compares what is there with what the other devices hold, then sends the difference.
- Choose the folders in Settings, or drag one onto the status window.
- Sign in on the second computer with the same name.
- Leave both switched on for the first pass. After that it takes seconds.
When two people change the same file
Both versions are kept. The later one takes the name and the earlier one is saved beside it with the date added, for example budget (kitchen laptop, 18 March).xls. Nothing is merged or thrown away without asking.
What is never synced
- Temporary files and anything larger than the free space on the other device
- Folders you marked as
local only
