The academy squad has three places for the spring season. You need a working microphone, two free evenings a week and the patience to defend a base for twenty minutes without complaining.

chronoskin 2, Grey Harbour 1

Nobody expected an easy night and nobody got one. Grey Harbour had not lost on Twin keeps all season, and for eighteen minutes it looked as if they would not start now.

Map one: Twin keeps

We went a flag down inside three minutes. Halvard moved to the upper gallery, the base held, and mirelle levelled with a run through the water tunnel. Overtime went our way after a dropped flag on their ramp.

Map two: Saltworks

Saltworks is a runner's map and theirs is quicker than ours. They took it 3 to 1. The decider was played straight after on the home map.

What worked

  • Two on defence at all times, even when chasing a goal.
  • Calling the flag carrier's route, not only the position.
  • Binding say_team drop calls to one key.

The decider

One all with ten seconds left, and a capture with four on the clock. The demo is in the downloads section for anyone who does not believe it.

Still shaking. That tunnel run should not have worked twice.

dunmore wrote:13 Mar 2006, 08:47

First ladder win for me. Thanks for the patience on Saltworks, I know where the lift is now.

pike wrote:13 Mar 2006, 19:30

Watched the demo twice. The old guard approves, grudgingly.
